Linksys EtherFast 100 10 today

iPad? Sure why not, but don’t discount the Kindle with it’s easy on-the-eyes display, dictionary and light weight design it reads in the sunlight as easy as it reads indoors without the bulk of an iPad.

So, if you want an iPad that’s great it’s a wonderful device, but it’s no substitute for the avid reader’s indulgence like the Kindle; the two can coexist quite nicely.

Port 10 NEW 24 reviews

I must admit, I wish that I read this book for the first time while I was in high school. It would have been a great book to read in school, too – I definitely would have preferred to read this over some of the other assigned books. It would have been a lot of fun to discuss. And it really is amazing just how timeless this book is, I mean, for the most part, it feels like this could have been published this year. It just feels very fresh and modern, which I suppose is one of the tell-tale signs of a true classic novel. I didn’t really know what to expect from the book, and I did really enjoy reading it. I will say, though, I read somewhere that there is a window of opportunity to read this book, and that if you read it when too young, or too old, you lose the book’s full power, and I can definitely see how that statement is true. Still, Holden Caulfield is a great character, but I would have liked him even more if I had been introduced to him at a younger age.

I really liked how this worked; like most reviewers I didn’t think it would stay on the dashboard or allow me to move it around–but it did. However, after some time it loses flexibility and stops gripping–that is, you can put it on your dashboard but it’s just lying there–it no longer has much/any traction and will easily fall off. I’ve done some dangerous things as I’ve lunged to keep it from flying off–now I never accelerate rapidly or turn sharply because it will fly off. I also have to push it further back on the dash (to a flatter place) than I would like visually to keep it from falling off.

I’ve had it now about a year although it hasn’t been “working” correctly for months. I live in a very hot climate which perhaps plays a role but it’s only on the dash when I’m driving; I hide the Garmin at all other times. So its exposure to high heat isn’t that bad.

I’m now buying a new one–which I suppose gives a mixed message. $23 for 6 – 8 months? Not terrible but far from wonderful.

Premium 10 Import Lift and me

I own an office cleaning business and it’s as good as any vac I’ve used with one caveat…sand and grit get embedded in the hard plastic wheels and scratch hardwood floors – especially if your woods floors are dark. It becomes like “rolling sandpaper.” Bummer, we just installed the floors. GREAT VAC JUST KEEP OFF THE HARDWOOD.

1010 10 Stylus Olympus talk

I’m surprised and delighted with the sharp, clear photos this camera takes, the panorama feature, and the amount of editing that can be done in-camera – it’s amazing. The instructions and the camera’s menus are quite friendly if you’ve ever used a digital camera before. I’m already using settings that I never could remember how to find in my much less intuitive Sony menu.

However, in using all those settings, I discovered that when Olympus and the 1010’s users tout the camera’s long battery life, they’re talking about point and shoot with the occasional flash or zoom, and not taking full advantage of all the special features the camera has to offer. If, for example, you use the zoom frequently, set your screen brightness to high because you’re shooting in bright sunlight, use the Guide frequently, make a lot of in-camera edits, play back to erase old photos you’ve fixed in camera, etc., a new, fully charged battery drains fast, and without adequate warning. The battery drain I might have expected, and that’s not the real issue for me as I can live with that considering all the great things the camera can do. The biggest problem for me so far is that after shooting approximately 40-50 photos one day, doing all of the above (zoom, lots of edits, playing back, etc.) the battery indicator still showed green and full. The following day, after I had taken maybe 5 shots, the battery suddenly (i.e. no quarter or half `down’ indications) blinked red and showed a quarter charge left. At no time when I turned the camera on did the battery indicator show anything but green and a full charge. After anywhere from one shot taken to 2-3 seconds after turn-on, the indicator showed almost empty, and eventually empty battery. I had made a trip to a local museum specifically to try the camera out, and left after taking less than half the shots I wanted to try because the battery, which had read fully charged the night before, was completely dead within maybe 18 shots. A lovely thought-provoking story based on historical facts. Wow, thankfully, we’ve come a fairly long way in a short time…. but way overdue.
