I am an original kindle owner and bought this for my husband. I loved it so much, I ordered the latest kindle for myself. We are now a 3 kindle family.

I could not have loved it more. Water for Elephants is one of those wonderful novels that has an interesting setting, but it doesn’t let the setting take over the story. It is a novel about the people in that place, and the people of Benzini’s circus took over my mind and stay with me still.

Jacob begins Water for Elephants alone. Orphaned by his immigrant parents, he is weeks away from his Cornell graduation, but he simply cannot return to the life he has known. He jumps aboard a moving train-the train carrying the Benzini circus to its next production. No one on the circus cares that Jacob didn’t finish his final exams. The diploma, he is told, “is just a piece of paper, and nobody here gives a damn about that. You’re on a show now. The rules are different.”

In fact, the circus seems to have no rules at all. Jacob somehow finds other kind souls among the misfits, and these people work together to protect themselves and the animals. The villians-Uncle Al and August-are well described and three-dimensional. You understand why they behave the way they do. These villians are not cookie-cutter images, and their real-world sensibilities make them even more frightening.

In the picture, the basket looks chrome or gray, but in real life, it is actually white like it says in the description. (duh) For some reason I thought the discription was wrong and the picture was right, but I was mistaken as it turns out. White as white can be. I think I would’ve bought the black one instead knowing that, but oh well. I also bought this because a review for the black basket version says

“I’ve been looking for over 6 months for a basket that didn’t attach to the handlebars, but rather to the stem. I needed this because I have other items that are mounted in the same position as where a handlebar-mounted basket would attach. I also wanted the basket to be stable enough to carry my Chihuahua or a bag of groceries, so the quick-latch type wouldn’t work either. This basket works perfect because it has leg braces in addition to mounting to the stem!”

In all honesty, I don’t know what this person is talking about, the instructions show quite clearly that it is made to attach to thefront handle bar area of the bike on top and then to the wheel base down below. Even the basket is shaped with the rear side of the basket (bracket side) being slightly higher than the front side, because it’s made to attach to the FRONT of the bike. I bought this thinking I could mount it on the rear of my bike and I’m not sure I can. To mount it on the rear I’d have to take the gears off to attach the stabilizer to the wheel base, or not use the wheel brace at all, and clamp it to the rear with just the bracket it comes with. I’m just not sure how stable that will be.. I wanted to be able to carry my puppy in it for in case she gets tired and doesn’t want to walk anymore, as well as carry groceries and etc in the back. I’m looking at it now and wondering how it won’t slip or tip over.. I might be able to jury-rig it to work, but for some reason I read this review and thought for sure it was just made out of the box to mount on the front or the rear of a bike, when it cl

The portable friction mount works perfectly. It holds my 5″ Garmin in place on the dash, at the perfect height for my vision. I barely have to take my eyes off the road to see it. When I get to my destination, I can quickly grab it and put it in a small tote bag I keep on the floor, so that it’s not visible to passers-by. It just takes a second to pull it back out of the tote bag and set it back out on the dash. This is one of the most perfect items I have ordered from Amazon.

This item is great especially if you are working in an office as it gives you an idea/overview of how much (or how little) you are doing daily. 10000 steps per day is longer than it seems… It definitely is a motivational tool to get you out and about.

If you are getting into jogging or running, it’s also a great help with trying to see how far and long you have been on the move.

It’s light, compact, doesn’t get in the way, and is easy to use. I keep it on my purse and with me everyday.

It’s definitely for the simpler sportsman/woman or if you’re just starting to get active, and want to keep track of your activity a bit.

If you are an advanced walker/runner, who needs a GPS system and heart rate monitor, this is probably not the item for you.

Overall, was worth the buy!

I just came back from a 500 mile trip on which I transported two bikes (a man and a woman’s Cannondale hybrid) using this rack without any problems, even when driving through severe thunderstorms with high wind and driving rain.

The rack is well made, easy to install and remove on just about any trunk, has good padding to protect the trunk (no marks were left), and holds the bikes nice and secure with the included rubber straps (though on any bike rack I also always use a few bungee cords of my own). I bought a three bike rack even though I normally transport only two bikes because I like the extra room, and the larger rack was only about another twenty dollars. Therefore, I can’t comment on using this for three bikes.

While driving I did not hear any “buzzing” or “vibrating” sound from the rack at all. Also, I secured all of the extra lengths of strap so that they did not flap around.

Before you decide to buy a trunk rack rather than install a hitch, keep some things in mind (I personally prefer a rack that attaches to a hitch, but on the particular car that I was taking on the trip, attaching a hitch was not an option):

1. While a trunk rack generally costs less than the cost of a hitch and a separate rack, once the trunk rack is installed you cannot easily access the contents of your trunk. That means if you go on a trip, you need to pack the trunk before you attach the rack and put on your bikes, and when you arrive at your destination, you need to remove your bikes and the rack to unpack your luggage. At the end of a long trip when I am using a rack with a hitch, I often leave my bikes on the rack until the next day and just deal with my luggage upon arrival. That is not an option with a trunk rack. Likewise, if you want to get something out of your trunk or put something in during a trip while the trunk rack and bikes are on, that is not an option.

2. Depending on the make and model of your car and how the trunk rack sits on the trunk, you have to be car

Like I said in my review of the black leather cover, this was a birthday gift. I have talked to many people about the KINDLE and everyone has praised it highly. I wasn’t sure that I would like reading a book like this, but I will probably never buy another book. The real truth is I am reading faster than ever before because I was able to increase the size of the font. The battery really last a long time and it has been perfect for all the traveling I do. People on the planes are always asking me about it. I plan on getting one for each of my daughters and husband for their birthdays this year.

Amazon, you really have a hit. Please see if you can do something like the NOOK is doing as far as getting to share books with others who have the KINDLE. This would be another great marketing tool.

The novel is set in the tumultuous 1960’s south, a time of raw emotion, fear, and hatred. In the midst of all this chaos, the reader will see the gifts of love, devotion, and compassion.

I am looking forward to her second novel!

This was the third (and least expensive) bike seat cover I tried, and I wish I’d tried it first. I have a stationary exercise bike which I must use daily, due to arthritis in my knees, and the seat was so hard, I couldn’t bear more than 10 or 15 minutes per session. With this sheepskin seat cover, I tend to stay on the bike longer than needed, due to the great comfort it provides. The fit is perfect too, thanks to the drawstring. I love it! Best of all, on the rare occasions that my husband also uses the bike, he is just as comfortable as I. I’m very pleased with this purchase, and would highly recommend it to anyone, old or young, looking for a softer seat on their bike.
