300mm F Sigma 70 watch out
In range of 70-250 Sigma 70-300mm F/4-5.6 DG OS SLD Super MLC is very nice.
The best results starts from F5.6 on 70mm and at F10 stops on 300mm range.
Also good on full frame Canon 5D Mark II upto 250mm. Best results from F6.3 stop.
Recomended if you’re in $300-400 price tag.

F Opteka 8 500mm no mad
As others have noted, this unit is very heavy, but that’s because it’s solidly made. I am impressed with how clean my carpets came out, although by using the method described in the owner’s manual, my carpets were left wetter than I wanted, even with more “dry” strokes to pull the excess water out. They weren’t soggy, but just took a little longer to dry. Following up with vacuuming lifted the nap beautifully and made the carpets look almost new. This was recommended in the owner’s manual.
Overall I am very pleased with the purchase, although the inclusion of the nozzle cleaning tool would have been a very nice addition.

As an amateur photographer, I love this lens. I sold my Canon 70-200 f/4L for this one and I really like the added length and OS. Images are sharp with good color saturation. The lens is heavy compared to my previous lens but I would expect nothing less since it’s made with heavier materials and has the OS motor. I like the fact that it also has the tripod ring included. The only down side I can find so far is the minimum aperture being a little too slow. I have to either have a lot of light or really crank up the ISO in order to get really fast shutter speeds.
Given the price of this lens compared to the Canon 100-400, this lens is a real bargain. If you’re looking for a long telephoto with OS, consider this one. I’ve heard nothing good about it’s sister lens the 120-400.

F 650 1300mm Vivitar problem!
Well, I was sceptical at first, but this is an amazing device. It really does work like advertised and is so easy to read and download practically anything of interest. I highly recommend the Kindle DX. Get a zippered cover to protect it also.

This is the first brush to do a good job of removing my Siberian Husky’s thick undercoat. In fact, the brush not only does the job that no other has done before, but leaves my dog looking like a show dog! We love our Furminator!!

EF IS USM f/4-5.6 70-300mm Canon happy
“The hidden L lens…”. I bought this lens about a month ago when I purchased my Rebel XT.
I was initially dissapointed by the image quality but Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM turned out that I actually had a bad filter on the lens. Once I removed that cheap filter the lans came to life and has blown me away!!
If you read some of the forums there are actually Canon owners complaining that this lens is too good and has effectively devalued their expensive “L” lenses!
The only negative thing that I can say about this lens is that the front element rotates while focusing, making using a circular polarizer somewhat cumbersome. The Image Stabilizer really is a technological marvel though and will leave you wondering why every lens doesn’t come with it (the answer is that it adds to the weight and IS isn’t cheap).
This weekend was the first time the weather cooperated enough for me to try it outdoors. I went to a small local zoo and took a picture of a red fox from about 30ft away… through 2 wire fences… in sub-par lighting. I didn’t expect much. The picture actually came out and is so sharp I am having it framed.
