Focus on R COW FENDER CTCHR

Think of a juvenile James Bond with an IQ beyond Einstein’s. Then throw him in a world of technologically superior fairies, and the fun can begin.

And this is really what Artemis Fowl is about, first and foremost: FUN.

Some might say it reverts too easily to stereotypes, but I am not sure whether this is actually a bad thing. Too much depth, too much complexity in character development, might have taken the umpf out of the sheer fun ride I’ve had in reading Artemis.

The basic idea of the book–for those new to Fowl’s world–is that there is an underground world of fairies who go to great pains to keep their existence a secret from the human upper world. Until Artemis, a young criminal master mind, tracks down the fairies and upsets the whole balance of the worlds above and below ground.

In summary: Don’t expect the symbolism of Narnia, the metaphysics of His Dark Materials, or the detail of Harry Potter. Artemis Fowl doesn’t have any of those. Instead, expect to be blasted away by the explosive energy of a fun novel.

Why FT FENDER WERKS KLOCK

After smashing 2 iPhone 3Gs that were in a case when dropped I figured I better find a solution. Holding onto the iPhone naked is akin to holding a wet fish. The sleek lines also make it prone to being dropped, especially out of unbuttoned shirt pockets. The OtterBox Defender Case is about the best protection available for the iPhone. The only thing that works better is leaving it in the box at home. I am impressed with the precision of manufacture, the 2 inner parts snap together very tightly leaving the parting line barely visible. The black rubber outer cover stretches over the inner case and has tabs to locate and hold it to the small lugs around the edge of the case. The rubber outer cover also helps to eliminate the wet fish effect due to its texture and it tends to stay in a shirt pocket better too. The Defender is just about waterproof and all buttons, controls and ports are easily available. The holster, which mine came with is also available separately and is very handy. It holds the iPhone tightly when it is snapped in with the screen facing in. The holster can also be used as a stand if the iPhone is facing out by locking and rotating the belt-clip. I have had several cases and this will probably be the last one I will need to buy. I highly recommend this iPhone case.

FENDER FT LEVEL 21 beta

I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on a vacuum cleaner so after shopping around I decided to go with this one. I wasn’t too excited that it had a bag but I can deal with it. Amazon shipped it the day I ordered it and it arrived the next day! Easy to assemble and so far I love it!!! Very lite weight and it seems to do the job!!

FENDER 83 FT WFB Final

I have been using Microsoft Word since 1992 and that’s part of the problem. Over the years, the upgrades enhanced its performance but the look and feel of the program stayed recognizable and the changes were easy to follow and use. But goodness, the learning curve to this upgrade, Word 2007, is killing me. No longer do I have the familiar “File – Edit – Insert, etc” pull-down menus. No more toolbars. I find I have to relearn EVERYTHING to prepare a document, including the vocabulary of all the familiar Word functions. It has been a couple months since I upgraded and and I still find myself surfing the Internet to find out how to do things that used to be intuitive. (Surfing the ‘net because the “Help” pull-down is no longer.)

The REASON for my rating is the learning curve and not what Word 2007 can do. I am getting to the point where I’m starting to get why the reorganization. I would even concede that some months from now I might give a higher ranking. But for now, I’m weary.

25 FRT 6 FENDER problem!

Using this card in my Canon EOS Rebel DSLR and it works great. Holds tons of pics and is easy to transfer from my camera to both my PC and Mac. My PC has a card reader that this card fits in built into it and I use a cheap little USB card reader to plug into my Mac. The transfer rate is good and seems pretty fast. Good card for the money. I would recommend this card to anyone looking for a card in this format with this capacity.

With over 1,700 reviews logged in here, I’ll add my two cents worth.

If you’re reading this as “newest first”, let me warn you that most reviews contain spoilers about which you are not always warned.

This book was recommended by a friend and I found it to be an easy and enjoyable reading experience. That being said, I suggest that anyone, as an individual reader, will take from it what they will. I gave it 4 stars because it just doesn’t reach my standard of a great piece of literature or really in-depth study of something. From an enjoyment/entertainment perspective it is 4.5 or more, just not 5.0.

A lot depends on the mood you’re in when you read this book. Also, your expectations can help or hurt your appraisal of the work.

This book is part romance, part mystery, part documentary and part sociological treatise. It recaps an aging man’s life, mostly focusing on his young adult experience against the seedy backdrop of a traveling circus during the Great Depression.

Growing old is mandatory, but growing up is optional! If you have fought growing up, and if you ever had a romanticized vision of running away with the circus, you may understand this book. You may not like it, but you will come to some thought or understanding of what the author was trying to say. You may lose some illusions, though, which you might have wished you could have maintained.

Many of the negative reviews here criticize the language and sexually graphic descriptions of some scenes. The particular scenes probably accurately reflect the circumstances of the times. So what else is new?
These instances are almost glossed over. While not appropriate for children, the treatment fits into the docu-drama which debunks any romanticized vision of circus life.

As a novel, I didn’t know where the story was ultimately going. One confrontational segment, given much emphasis, seemed unexplained or unresolved. There was a twist at the end which is thought provoking.

Maybe you’re never
